Lincoln Christmas Market 2009A contemporary cathedral city with over 2,000 years of history, Lincoln is the perfect place to visit over the festive period. Take a trip back through time and stroll along the cobbles the cultural quarter of the city. The medieval square between the impressive Norman castle and magnificent gothic cathedral is the perfect backdrop for the Christmas Market.

Visitors are welcomed to this beautiful city and the traditional Christmas Market, where you will enjoy cultural entertainment and stroll around over 250 stalls nestled with in the medieval square and surrounding area.

Lincoln Christmas Market has developed dramatically since it began as the UK's first German-style traditional market with just 11 stalls. The Christmas Market gives visitors and residents a truly festive experience, with a traditional, high quality event for all the family.

Officially known under the abbreviation Neustadt a. d. Weinstr.  The name means New city on the wine route, as it lies on the German wine route (Deutsche Weinstrasse) and is located in Rhineland-Palatinate, in Germany.  Neustadt a. d. W. It is one of several dozen German and Austrian cities called Neustadt.

It has a beautiful old town centre with a market square surrounded by many half-timbered houses.  Most important for Neustadt’s economy are tourism and wine, as in the entire Palatinate.  The symbols of Neustadt are the Elwedritsche which can be visited at a special well in the town centre. These are fabulous beasts of local folklore. Neustadt is less than an hour away from larger cities such as Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, Heidelberg and Frankfurt.

Their Christmas market (Weihnachtsmarkt) takes place between 22nd November – 22nd December
